Brandon and Diana's Wedding

On Saturday, December 27, my brother Brandon married one of the most wonderful girls ever, Diana. They got married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple and then we had a Luncheon at Thanksgiving Point. It was such a fun day and it was great to celebrate this occasion with so many friends and family. I am so grateful that Diana joined our family. She is so amazing and I absolutely love her!

Temple Square

Being in A Cappella, we do a lot of fun and creative things. Today, in joy of the Christmas spirit, we went up to Temple Square to sing in the Joseph Smith Building and in the Assembly Hall. It was a blast! One of the best parts of
A Cappella is that I get to be in a class with almost all my friends, so when we're all together, it's crazy. On the bus ride up, we discovered that it was International Answer the Phone like Buddy the Elf Day. So we had a lot of fun calling each other and saying different quotes from the movie. It was awesome!
I love when we sing our Christmas songs because you can just feel the joy of Christmas spreading throughout the crowd as we sing. We were able to walk around Temple Square and see the Lights and Manger scene. I love going and seeing it all! It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Dad was kind enough to come and listen to us after he was done with work and then he drove Chelsea and I home so we wouldn't have to drive on the bus. I love you Dad! It was such a fun day. If you haven't seen the Lights on Temple Square yet, I suggest you go. They are beautiful!

Twilight!

This morning, Erin, Chelsea, Karli, Nikki, Mom, Dad, and I all went to go see Twilight. It was so amazing! Of course it wasn't going to be exactly like the book, but they did an amazing job. If you haven't seen it already, I suggest you go. It's worth it. :D Last night we went out and bought Twilight shirts so we could wear them. And they are awesome! Erin, Karli, Chelsea, and I even went early this morning and waited in line for a little over an hour before we were let in. We are crazy and we love it!

Sadies

Last Friday was Sadies. It was so much fun. We went to Fazoli's for dinner, then went and met Dad and Mom for pictures at the Provo Library. When we were finished with that we went to the dance and then to one of the girl's in our groups house for hot chocolate and games. It was Erin's first date. It's so weird to think that she is 16 now...The theme was Jungle, so we ty-died shirts :)

Another Update...

Wow, I'm getting pretty bad at keeping this updated when school is going on. So I will just highlight some of the things that have happened this past month.
A month ago, Erin and I didn't have school on a Friday, so we went along with our Mom to a trip to Salt Lake. We dropped off Dad at work, which is near Draper, and decided while we were there to see the new Temple that they are building. It is just beautiful! We continued on to Salt Lake and walked around Temple Square, went to the Beehive House, ate at the Lion House restaurant, and ended the trip by seeing the Joseph Smith movie. It was so much fun. Since then up til about a week ago, nothing really exciting has happened. School just keeps me busy.
Last Wednesday night, was just amazing. I had my first A Capella Concert and it was just wonderful. But something way more exciting happened that night as well. Brandon proposed to Diana! Yes it is now official, I am going to be getting a new sister in-law. We are all so very excited!
And this weekend, Todd, Joy, and Zackary came down for a visit!! Wahoo! I was so excited because I haven't seen them in forever and I finally got to meet Zackary! He is just the cutest thing ever!
Well that's my update...please enjoy the pictures below :)

My Best Friend

On May 10, 1992, a little kitten was born in Everett, Washington. 5 1/2 months later on Halloween, a family going trick or treating saw this adorable kitten on their friend's, the Nelsons, front porch. They loved her instantly. One week later the Hornes receive a call from the Nelsons and ask if they would like their kitten because their daughter could not take care of her anymore. This kitten became a part of the Horne family. Her name was Blueberry, because she was born in a blueberry patch. However, her name was changed to Sasha. The little Horne children loved having a pet and a new friend. She had a liter of kittens in Washington on our cousin's, Shawn Call, bed. Sasha moved with us to Provo, Utah in the summer of 1994 and had another litter of kittens in our laundry room.
Sasha was no ordinary cat. She could tell when someone was feeling down and would come right over and begin to comfort you. There were many times when I would be sad and she would come and jump on my bed, lick and cuddle with me. She was always my best friend and I could always count on her to keep me company whenever I felt distant from my siblings.
Most cats don't live beyond their 'Nine Lives.' Sasha had many experiences where we thought she should have knocked off a few of those lives. She had been stuck in the shed without food or water for three days, stuck in between the garage door and house, stuck in our van in 100 degree weather, battled dogs, been on the roof, lost in horse patches where she would be gone for hours or a day, and go some days without eating food and loose all strength and then suddenly have all her energy back a few days later.
For the past few months, Sasha started loosing her energy again, her hair started clumping up in patches, and she was loosing weight. She was so tired that she would just lie around the house all day in areas where she could just relax. Even when the dog would come and try to play with her, she would not fight him anymore, she would just sit and take him jumping on her.
This morning, on September 6, 2008, Sasha was hidden behind the washer and dryer. Dad thought for sure that she had died in her sleep last night, but then he saw her move. He picked her up along with her pillow and moved her into the backyard in the area near the shed where she could lie in the old dog house. Once I was up and awake, I went out and sat on the dog house holding her for about 30-45 minutes. I knew this would probably be my last time to show her that I loved her. I just sat holding, cuddling, and kissing her. After Devin and Erin had come out to check on me and tell Sasha that they loved her and petted her, it was only a few more minutes until my hand couldn't feel her heartbeat anymore. She lived for 16 years and 4 months. Much longer than most cats live. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father had sent us such a wonderful cat that could be such a big part of our lives. Even though I lost my best friend this morning, the part that she played in our lives will forever stay with me. I love you Sasha.

Trip to Washington

Erin and I got to have one more vacation before school started. We left on the 9th with our Uncle Marcus and cousin Kayleen, and headed off for Seattle, Washington. We spent all Saturday driving and got at my Grandparent's house at about midnight. We went to church with them in the morning, relaxed, and watched a little bit of Monk. Monday we watched some more Monk, played tennis, and went swimming with some of our cousins. Tuesday, along with other family, was spent up at Birch Bay. Wednesday Erin and I went with our Grandparents and Uncle Marcus to the Aquarium, relaxed some more, and then went back and played at the pool. Thursday we went over to spend the rest of the week with my Mom's other brother, Darren, and his family. We have a cousin who is between Erin and I so we hung out with him and also his younger brother. Friday night we had a big dinner with all the family and had a little bridal shower for the bride. Saturday was the wonderful wedding. It was really nice to see a lot of our family and spend some time with them. We left after the reception and drove Saturday night, and Sunday. Now school has started, but it was so nice to get in that last vacation!
